New Pamphlet: Not another badly written religious leaflet

Update: I have uploaded a PDF version of this pamphlet as well. See below. 🙂

Woohoo! OK so here’s the new hardware. May Allah put His barakah in it. Ameen.

It was made by a British sister who (masha Allah la quwatta illah billah) has some amazing writing skills. She made it for here ISoc (the UK version of a Muslim Student Assoc. short for Islamic Society). I helped edit this but that’s about it.

The good things about this pamphlet:

  • It’s black and white so it doesn’t cost too much to print and photocopy
  • It’s cute (I know a brother using that word sounds funny…but you’ll agree 😀 )
  • It’s written as if someone is talking to you face-to-face
  • It’s NOT textbook-ish
  • It’s funny but not too funny that it ruins it
  • It asks for Shahadah (ask the reader to convert to Islam)
  • It has a spot on the back page that you can add Contact Information too for your local group

Now that all said, it has some British-speak in there that I didn’t understand so easily. I believe, The Evening Standard is a newspaper and Waterloo Station is a place where you can buy it from. Us Canadians aren’t very educated when it comes to these sorts of things, but you can edit those parts if you think their confusing.

Also it isn’t very colorful which some may think as a bad thing. But rather than being simply eye candy, this is meant solely to be soul food. Being black and white means people aren’t going to be easily distracted. I like this because it fits with Islam where the dunya (world) is seen as distracting so it’s more likely to cater to people of sincerity and not people who are easily distracted, Insha Allah.

You will need Microsoft Publisher to print it. And then you will have to play around with the photocopying machine to get it to come out just right. But it would be best to go to a professional print shop and get their help so it looks even more pretty.

Subhana kallahumma wa bihamdik ash-haduana la illaha illa ant astaghfiruka wa atubu ilayk. Ameen.

  1. Wayyyy too much text. I like simple, large lettered pamphlets with pictures.

    That’s just my personal opinion.

  2. …Trust me on this Amir, very few people will convert to Islam because of pictures and large letters! People need to READ! 🙂

    Which reminds me…see new post.

  3. Any possibility of a PDF version for those of us who don’t have Publisher?

  4. Hmmm…I can try and do that for you. Keep an eye on this post and check back for an update.
