Turning Islamophobes into Islamophiles: Muslim Flash Mobs?

What’s cool, funny, easy and really fun to do?

For those who don’t know what these are–it’s basically when a bunch of random people meet up to do something totally unusual and cool. It’s legal stuff but the thing is it’s so unorthodox and unusual that people can react to it so differently. Improv Everywhere is by far the best group that does this.

Here is a clip where you can see a hijabi participating in a Flash Mob.

And here are some super awesome videos from Improv Everywhere. I think Muslims should REALLY try this stuff out and maybe even get our own community stuff happening around this. This is something that is really growing out from the Activist culture and into the mainstream North American culture.

(Warning: LOTS of MUSIC in these videos)

It would be so awesome if some Muslim nasheed artists did something like this to show how human we are.

I’m going topless today. I look like the supermodel so… đŸ™‚

Take over a building

Redhead’s protesting in front of Wendy’s restaurant. Check out the bald black guy!

Choreographing a Deja vu

I am so going to do a Muslim version of this!

This is how you should propose brothers!

How weak are these corporations! This is kind of similar to the Pink Hijabs for Breast Cancer.

And here is the funniest one of them all.

Its amazing to see how much attention this gets and Muslims are still stuck doing their dawah hiding behind a table or behind a pamphlet. Have some FUN with your Dawah! đŸ˜€

Subhana kallahumma wa bihamdika ash-haduana la illaha illa ant astaghfiruka wa atubu ilayk, Ameen.
