How novel and awesome of an idea is this:
Cyber-counseling for Muslim youth via Facebook
Pretty awesome hey?
Yeah if your thinking what I’m thinking you’re going to like this idea. Facebook is such a close-knit community that something like this makes total sense. It’s easy for people to access and easy to work with. Not to mention the times you’ve come across a user on Facebook who is feeling down or it becomes clear to you they have some mental issues.
The Sakina Center operates inside Facebook and one of their guys added me to Facebook just a while ago. I am especially impressed with the grass-roots thinking of this concept considering that people are already familiar with Facebook. Masha Allah, there are only a few other cyber-counseling services out there but this one has the thoughtful advantage of going out there and going to the people they want to help.
If you think you could use something like this or know someone who could be sure to visit their website: www.thesakinacenter.com
It’s good to have something like this available because you never know when you might need it. They have a group on Facebook as well. To join it click HERE.
