Virtues of Tahajjud

Imam Ahmad recorded that Abu Hurayrah said: “A man came to the Prophet and said, `So-and-so prays at night, but when morning comes, he steals.’

The Prophet said:

What you are saying (i.e., the Salah) will stop him from doing that.”
-Tafsir Ibn Kathir

Now, just stop and think about this hadith. If a person sins, but he is regular in performing the Night Prayer, standing long in the night- Allah will make the prayer a means, to stop him from sinning and perfect him. Think about something you have been struggling with for ages and that if you will pray the night, this struggle will be overcome.

Inna Nashi’ata al-Layli hiya ashaddu wat’aan wa aqwam qilla

Verily, the rising by night(for Tahajjud prayer) is very hard and most potent and good for governing the soul, and most suitable for understanding the Word of Allāh.
-Surah al-Muzzammil v. 6

What more could you ask for?

Subhana kallahumma wa bihamdika ash-haduana la illaha illa ant astaghfiruka wa atubu ilayk, Ameen.
