  2. interesting du’a, but could you elaborate a lil further about the du’a? what is this du’a for?

“make my wrong actions, the actions of people whom You love, and don’t make my good actions, the good actions of people whom You do not love.”
    hmm, don’t quite get tt.

    Thanks in advance!

    • If we perform a sin, and it is a similar sin to those done by whom Allah loves, then His forgiveness is more likely and His mercy is more likely to descend, because it resembles the pious. So its not just about the good deeds of the pious but also the bad deeds of the pious- because their bad deeds are more beloved to Allah than the bad deeds of the hypocrites.

      Make sense? 🙂

      • ahhh. i see.
        syukran jazilan! 😀

No biggy, just lettin’ you know.

    Wsalam.

  4. sayyidi, sins do not resemble the pious. Rather, the impression I get is that if the righteous do slip up, they repent and hence never return to sin. This is, of course, not always the case with others.

Why did Ibn `Ata Allah concentrate on tawbah? Because it is the first step of the path 🙂

Allah yaj`alanaa min at-tawwabin, bi barakat rasulih al-amin, sallaLlah `alayh wa alih wa sahbih wa sallam

    was-salam
